Week 6

I am so behind with Project 366 but I don't want to quit.  So I decided that even if I can't snap a photo every single day, I will have a photo for every single day.  I have been looking back through the archives and I have a lot of pics I haven't yet shared so if I have to supplement then I can look back in time.  So Week 6 and 7 will definitely have some archived photos until I can dig myself out of this hole of projects.  :)  Here we go...

Commentary: Constructed in 1909, this building was first occupied in 1910 by the Hobson Electric company. The warehouse was next leased to the Maroney Hardware Company, which was bought in 1926 by Rufus W. Higginbotham and Hyman Pearlstone, owners of the Higginbotham - Pearlstone Wholesale Hardware Company, which was located here until 1977. The four-story brick industrial building, featuring corbelled cornices, remains as a focal point of the city's historic west end.

Commentary: I don't normally have breakfast so didn't partake in today's prompt. However, we drove to Lillian, Texas --a little over an hour from where I live to have bbq at this GAS STATION which is one of the top 50 bbq places in Texas according to Texas Monthly. I had the chopped beef sandwich with pickles and onions and it was soooooo good. :)

Description:  I did not take this picture today but I just had to share due to today’s prompt.  I find inspiration in abandoned buildings and LOVE to photograph them.  I love to share what I consider to be beautiful and maybe give someone else a perspective that they likely would have overlooked had I not captured it for them to see.  You may find a dilapidated building, but I will find the beautiful mystery waiting to be unraveled and when I discover it, I will photograph it for the world to see.  That’s what I am inspired by.

Week 1

This will be my third year participating in Project 365 (plus one).  I usually get pretty burnt out halfway through the year and call it quits.  But hopefully things will be a little different this year.  Hopefully.  The first few days I did random pics but beginning with Day 7 I started using prompts and I play along with a group of photographers on Facebook.  If you would like to join our group, just shoot me a message and I'll send you invite.  It's really neat to see everyone's own interpretation of the prompt for the day.  So here we go!

 

Day 1: Working on edits from the Fly Me to the Moon book release party and decided to take some new shots of the book itself and the cute leather bookmark from the celebration to give to the author.

Day 3:  Went to the mailbox and found the buttons waiting for me.  Aren't they super cute!  I can't wait to put them on my camera bag pack.  <3
