Weekend Shennanigans

On the photography front --I'm still editing pictures from my Saturday shoot.  Plus I added two more pics to my photo gallery.  Aren't they gorgeous?  Both of these pictures were taken Thanksgiving weekend in Jefferson, Texas.

Anywho...I think I'm gonna hit the hay.  I slept for three hours this afternoon.  I left work early because I wasn't feeling well.  I'm still not feeling 100%.  :(  I will leave you with this...a glimpse at my 2010 in facebook statuses.  What a year...what a friggin' year!

Peace, Love, and picture posts.

I have officially

been awake for 24 hours.  What is wrong with me?  And I am not even sleepy.  I'm tired, but my eyes are like this O.O

I spent allllllllllllllllllllllllll night in the studio.  Made TONS of cute stuff.  Can't wait to show it off tomorrow.  Here is a preview.  I made a bunch of canvases - these are the larger ones...they are 8"x10".

Aren't they stinkin' adorable?!?!?!  Yeah, I know.  ::struts::

Well - off I go to take a soak.  Peace, love, and ruffled panties.

Graphic Art

You're perfectly flawed
You're perfectly incomplete
Like cracks in the glass
And faded photographs

You're perfectly flawed
You're perfectly incomplete
Let them come near when
Imperfections will keep you unique

Burlesque Baby

I've been hard at work today making goodies for Saturday night's event.  I'm feeling a bit more confident.  Plus, I showed Jericho St. Etienne (show promoter and performer) and he said "people are going to fall in love with you and your wares."  So that made me feel really good. I am so very excited to be invited to this event and to be surrounded by so many other visual artists, performers, dancers, and crafters.  I love creative people and I thrive in that type of environment.

I know, I know - shut up and give you a tease, right?

This is one of the tags that I mass produced today...okay, I made three!  However, as I was being called away to dinner I noticed that I had forgotten the "s" in burlesque.  DOH!  Jeremy said I was going to have to start all over again.  Me:  "Whaaaaat???  Ummm, I'm a crafter, I can cover up just about any mistake."  And so I did...the next time it will look nicer and crisper, but yeah, had to cover up the boo boo.  Anywho --here is my little tribute to the Golden Age of Burlesque...

Soooo, I have the rest of the week to create, create, create!  Then I have a photo shoot on Saturday and the burlesque show on Saturday night.  On Sunday I will not be getting out of bed.  :p  I'm kiddddddding!

::exhausted::

What a weekend!  First of all, my knees are black and blue and not for any REALLY good reason.  LOL.  I had to kneel on rocks today to get some shots at my photo shoot with the Hoyt Family.  This was my third shoot with actual human beings and I think it went okay.  It started out a little awkward but 870 plus pictures later we were rockin'!  I have a ton of pics to edit this week --pictures from today's shoot, pictures from the Burlesque Show, pictures from tomorrow night's shoot.  Plus birthday's.  Oh Lord...so many birthday's this month.  I HAVE to get my brother's gift and my mom's gift in the mail before Friday.  Which means I actually have to make cards and canvases before Friday.  Aye, I've got my work cut out for me.  I cannot wait for my two week vacation.  ::le sigh::

Pictures?  Well, there's a bunch on my own facebook page and on my Facebook visual arts page...but here is a little taste of what I shot today:

The Dark Carnival Bewitching Burlesque Show was SOOOO much fun last night.  I totally want to learn how to dance like that.  However I am not coordinated and I don't want to show my ta-ta's to everyone.  I mean, sure, I like low cut/pin-up style clothing, but ruffled panties and pasties...not happening...for a while.  ;)  Although I do own a lot of ruffled panties.  Tee hee!

I ended up wearing one of my 20's inspired dresses to the show last night with fishnets and dainty platform shoes - everyone loved the look.  I love fitting in and I look forward to working with that group of performers.  No, I won't be performing - LMAO!  They want me to sell some of my art at their shows.  LOL.  Also, last night was the very first night I wore high definition makeup.  I really, really, really, liked it.  What do you think?

Well, it's eleven so I better get to bed.  I have a crazy week ahead of me.  The boy actually said that I needed to slow down because I've been running around non-stop for days.  Hmmm, I'm flattered that he noticed.  :D  Have a great week and GO RANGERS!

I need a weekend...

...from my weekend!  Wow, I was crazy busy all weekend.

The best part was today's photo shoot with Danielle and Riley.  I think the photos turned out really awesome.  But that's just what I think.  :)

Have a great week!  I'm going to bed.

Thank you!

I'm sorting through the goody bag that we received at the artistic journey last weekend. Lots of Maya Road goodies and even slippers! This is SERIOUSLY better than the bag at CKU Nashville!

Artistic Journey

My partner in crime and I after day 2 of The Artistic Journey.  We were beat!!!!

This was our first full project - on day two.  It's a shadow box.  I made it for my mom's birthday.  Ugh, I better get it in the mail if I want it to be there on time.  I kinda suck and mailing stuff to people.  Anywho - more pictures another day.

Sunday Nightage

BLEHHHHH.  Had a fantastic weekend at the Artistic Journey but uh, next year, yeah, no driving back and forth to the Wax, we will be staying in a hotel.  So I’m a little exhausted but still had a complete blast.  More later…for now here is a picture of my tag on display at The Crafty Scrapper.  :)  Sorry for the glare - tags were on display at the actual display window to the store and I took this picture from the outside looking in.

Okay - one more pic!  I snapped this yesterday at sunset as we were leaving Katie's class which was held at the historic Rogers Hotel.  This is one of my favorite buildings - The Ellis County Courthouse.

He was waiting for me today...

Canvas Love

I'm  going to post a bunch of pictures of my latest projects and I'll give details tomorrow because I have a 6:30am meeting.  UGH.  Besides, I don't actually work at work.  Or so SOMEONE is convinced.  Hmph.  :|  Don't believe the hype!

Anywho!

2(0) minutes till midnight

M - if you read this, I promise it really is 20 till midnight.  LOL.  :D

Anyway, I was a little bit creative tonight.  Just a little.  Here are some sneaks...I still have to mod podge them to seal them and then they are ready for sale.  I will have better pictures in the coming days.  These are 6x6 and if you are interested in purchasing, they will be on my etsy page.  Ummmm, I don't have that address handy but when I post them, I will post a link.

Oh - and one more pic of the kids playing in my studio.  They bring a huge smile to my face.  :D

4 MORE DAYS TILL THE ARTISTIC JOURNEY!!!

Alligator Tears

::EXHALE::

Dear Tracey,

You have some catching up to do, sister!  Love you and miss you.

Well, today’s exhibit went well.  It wasn’t groundbreaking – I still have to go back to work on Monday.  LOL.  But I met some new people and have some potential clients.  I don’t think people realize that I’m booking fast so if they drag their feet, I’m not going to have weekends open.  I’ve got four solid bookings plus I’m gone the first weekend in October and the last weekend in October.  So yeah.

Anywho, my friends were so super duper supportive!  Thank you friends.  I know that so many couldn’t be there today but I received a ton of well wishes on Facebook and via text messaging – even phone calls.  Thank you so much, I love you.  ;)

I will first start this picture post with pictures of myself from the Ruin Cam – I took these last Saturday at 4am when I was editing and deciding what pictures were going to be a part of today’s exhibit.  The very tired and frustrated Ms. Ruin.

Okay - that was fun.  :)

And now...drum roll please...here a few pictures from today's exhibit.  You can find the rest on my FB Page.

Toni helped me set up and made sure all of the frames were perfectly straight.  :)  Thanks, Ton!

I LOVE this picture.  "Jesus is my bud!"

Poster for my display.

16 8x10 prints by Ms. Ruin

My spotlight piece.

Guest Speaker, Saul Garza of FOX 4 News, is in complete awe over my work.  He bought every single piece that was on display.  Okay, he didn't.  He just gave me a hard time - that's what big brothers do, right?  He is definitely my brother from another mother.

Deb:  Wow, she is phenomenal.
John:  Yes, I'm very proud to know her.
Me:  I do what I can.  :p

Oooooh, the girl's got a portfolio!

So there is a look at my exhibit.  I hop you enjoyed the tour.  Oh wait, you want more??!!??  Vell, some people are never satisfied.  Fine, here's von more.  Sorry, I'm stuck on this silly German accent.

Well, that's all the steam I've got.  I'm exhausted.  Off to bed I go.  Keep cool my babies.
